Dr Julia Higgins – Chiropractor
Julia was born and raised on a small farm in Gippsland Victoria. After finishing her schooling in Sale, she went on to complete her Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical) and Bachelor of Chiropractic Science at RMIT University in Melbourne in 1997.
Julia worked in both Melbourne and Bacchus Marsh before purchasing a clinic in Ballarat in 1999. Julia has grown and developed the Ballarat Integrated Health Centre into a busy and respected clinic in the 23 years of her ownership. She continues to work in the Ballarat practice as well as locally in Bacchus Marsh.
Julia and her husband Stace have two sons, Thomas and Cameron. Julia has enjoyed playing in the Bacchus Marsh tennis and basketball associations. She completed her first 1/2 marathon in 2019 & continues to run socially.
She now spends the majority of her free time in voluntary roles to support her sons in their sports.
Julia is available Monday 9am-6pm, Thursday 9am-6pm & 1 x Saturday morning per month 9am-12.30pm.
Dr Jessica Mibus – Chiropractor
Jess is originally from the Western District, having grown up on the family farm west of Portland. After completing her schooling, she went on to spend a year in England working as a volunteer.
Returning to Australia, Jess attended RMIT University in Melbourne and graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complementary Medicine- Chiropractic) and a Masters in Clinical Chiropractic. She has since divided her time between her family and working in the Ballarat Practice.
Jess and her husband Jon have three daughters, Lorelei, Philippa & Tabitha. Jess enjoys time in the kitchen (despite the little helpers), still manages to find time for the occasional book, enjoys downtime by being crafty & to combat all the sitting, she finds time to keep fit running & walking.
Jess is available Tuesday 9am-4pm, Friday 9am-6pm & one Saturday morning per month 9am-12.30pm.
Dr Verity Mercieca – Chiropractor
Verity grew up in Bacchus Marsh and had a very active childhood which introduced her to Chiropractic care at a young age.
She developed an interest in the benefits of this type of health management, which led her to study and recently complete her Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) in 2019 at RMIT University in Bundoora. In her spare time she plays tennis at the Bacchus Marsh Lawn Tennis Club, enjoys cooking, hiking, playing her saxophone and hanging out with her cats, dog & partner Rohan. With sports training (football, netball & basketball) and dry needling experience, she has a passion for holistic Chiropractic care.
Verity works Wednesday 10am-7pm & two Saturday mornings per month 9am-12.30pm.
Steve Guy – Myotherapist
Steve graduated from the Australian college of Sports Therapy in 2009 with an Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage (Myotherapy). Since then he has worked for the VictorianBushrangers Cricket team, the Darley Football Club and privately in Ballarat.
Steve specializes in remedial massage, pregnancy massage, corrective exercise, dry needling and cupping as well as routine maintenance massage. Steve completed his specialized training in Oncology Massage in 2018.
In Steve’s spare time he is a keen gardener, enjoys playing basketball and tennis, and has enjoyed visiting Europe with his wife Sarah. Steve and Sarah have two sons – Ethan & Emmett.
Steve is available Tuesday & Wednesday 9am-6pm.
